Question chosen: Why does the Christian faith encourage solidarity with the poor and the marginalized?

Our Christian faith encourages Christians to show compassion towards the poor because they believe that all humans should be treated equally, none higher nor lower than the rest. Human dignity does not depend on a person’s wealth nor social status, but on his character and qualities as a person. In line with Community and Common good, we shouldn’t categorize people in society, but treat each other fairly with solidarity no matter what differences we have. Instead of distancing ourselves from the poor, we must seek to help them live a more comfortable life. Lastly, we are all called to be stewards of creation, meaning to say, we must live in harmony and faith alongside all of God’s creations.
